Tomato... Ta-mato

We (Chris and my mom)experimented this summer by planting our very own vegetable garden. That's right... we sure did. Chris' parents had shared some amazing lettuce and squash with us earlier on in the summer when it was still in season. Everything was so much larger than what we'd been paying for at the market and this stuff even lasted for 4 weeks in the frig. 4 WEEKS PEOPLE! It was delicious. So with their expert advice we were off.

So we decided we'd start our own little venture to see what we could grow... We decided to grow most of our favorites that were in season still and see what would take. Well the squash and zucchini didn't survive but we have tons of okra, 1 Roma tomato, and red and green bell peppers, oh and a TON of basil. We planted a whole bunch more than that, but these are the things that decided to grace us and our pocket book this summer. Can't wait to try another batch in the spring. We might have struck out this summer, but I have a feeling it will only get better and better. After all this was our first time at doing it.

Our end goal is to end up with beautiful produce like these tomatoes Chris' parent's shared with us. These were the tastiest and most beautiful tomatoes I've ever had. There's always next year... right...
