Last Friday was my company Christmas Party at the Glass Cactus at the Gaylord Texan. It was so much fun to get dressed up and have a night out on the town. As you drive through the Gaylord complex there are a ton of Christmas light displays it’s almost like driving through a winter wonderland, but with traffic. Our company had reserved a space up on the second floor that had a balcony over the dance floor/stage and a door leading to look over Lake Grapevine.
We had fun chatting with co-workers and eating some really great food. At 9:00 there was a live band called the Spazmatics, and all I can say is that they were entertaining to watch. There were four guys, and the lead vocalist had a neck brace on and another had a bicycle helmet on with glasses, they kind of reminded me of that movie revenge of the nerds. They were a cover band, so it was nice to know most of the songs they sang. We ended up leaving when everyone started to dance, it’s just kind of awkward to dance with your co-workers, or at least it is to me. Overall it was a very nice night and I’m glad we got to spend a night out on the town.
